Sophora japonica
Pharmacological Action. Uses.—The buds,
flowers and pods are concocted and used in
the treatment of a variety of ailments
including internal haemorrhages, poor
peripheral circulation.
Rutin, alone or in combination (with aesculin,
citroflavonoids, or ascorbic acid), is promoted
for the symptoms of venous and
lymphatic vessel insufficiency, for the
symptomatic treatment of the functional signs
of capillary fragility, to treat the functional
symptoms of the acute attack of piles, and for
loss of visual acuity and alterations of the
field of vision presumably of vascular origin.
The tincture of fruits is antibacterial.
