In order to preserve,

the National Seed Store was constructed at

Kuban Experiment Station in 1976.
The Seed Store is a three-storey building

with the first floor below ground level. The

seed storage chambers, 12 chambers for each
floor, are located on the ground and the first

floors.

Each chamber can accommodate from

15,000 to 20,000 accessions depending on the
container's size.

At present, the temperature inside all
chambers is maintained at +4C.
